Planet's Choice - Official Guidelines of Use

The following information is presented as a "Guide of Use and Understanding" to help you get the best experience out of your Public Praise and Recognition Services company.  Though the following information is presented as a guide, it is also Planet's Choice "Duty of Care" towards you, our customers and Curators of Humanity.

Pardon the self-grandiose statement, but a Planet's Choice Nomination Card or Message is unlike any other card or message you have ever purchased or received in your life.  There is an element of social power to your PC nomination cards and message services, and therefore it's important to read the "manual" before attempting to operate this "power".

The "Manual" consists of the Planet's Choice Precepts, Precepts of Use, 3rd Party Clauses and this Guide.

However, if your message is truly born of respect, raised in admiration and nurtured with pride or honor, and you have this inner expressive desire to "vent your heart" with a purely positive human need of self-expression, and you feel as if you know exactly what Planet's Choice can allow you to do, then this guide is just getting in your way and may be read later.

If you are still curious, or you are just looking for more insight, then the rest of this guide will attempt to address Why, When, Who, What, & Where to engage in Public Nominations using the Planet's Choice Public Praise and Recognition services.

WHY?

There are many reasons to use Planet's Choice (PC) products and services; Birthdays, milestone achievements, year's end congratulations, keeping in touch, reaching out expressively, or even because you are "turning over a new leaf" just to name a few.   Because of the unique nature of the PC Nomination cards and messages, it's versatile enough to fit into many situations you encounter in life.

"Why" is ultimately left up to the Nominator to decide, but among the many reasons "Why" to use Planet's Choice Public Praise and Recognition Services, the basis of your reasoning could be born of any of the following;
  • It makes you happy to do so.
  • You do it because you want to.
  • You want to be heard and understood.
  • You do it because you have an inner desire to express yourself.
  • You have come to a conclusion that some things in life are worth honoring.
  • You want someone else to know how much they have positively affected your life.
  • You recognize that every nomination is a promotion of a positive human trait that you value.
  • You want someone you don't know, to know that what they are doing is making your world better.
  • You Care.

As a Nominator, you are acknowledging the past deeds of others to have made a genuine, positive experience in the living of your life, or all of our lives in general and by your act of Nomination, you are adding to humanity's future by shaping the world in such a way that many others will take notice of what is really driving and propelling humanity forward.

WHEN?

When and why you would want to use our Products and Services are closely related, but the important aspect of "when" to use it is best done after the fact.  A Nomination should not be issued or registered to promote what someone is doing now, it's best used to acknowledge what someone has already done, as in Past Tense.

Suggested example times for "When" to Nominate;
  • Birthdays (PC Card Seals forthcoming!).
  • End of Year or for previous years in the past.
  • After special events of importance to you.
  • After employment / contracts are completed.
  • End of school year, College or University completed.
  • Returning home from Holidays.
  • Quarterly / yearly results based on successful completion of company objectives.
  • Have entered or are in Retirement.
  • Before you pass away.

Suggested example times for "When NOT" to Nominate;
  • If you have been drinking and especially if you have been drinking wine.
  • If you are under duress, medication(s), hallucinogens, suffering from jet lag or other incoherent states of mind, body or soul.
  • If you are feeling overly sad or angry, hearing voices or at any time you are not "yourself".

About the only acceptable (advisable) time to nominate someone for doing something "presently", is for when you have zero interaction with your Nominee (IE: Yourself to a specific scientist actively working on a cure that is important to you (Indirectly), or for an open Public Nomination (IE: From yourself to people in "Emergency Services", "Military Services" or specific services; "Bus Drivers", "Nurses" etc.); people who actively engage in humanity's best interest every day.

Another aspect of "When" to nominate that needs consideration is in relation to yourself.  This also follows Precept #3, Be Honest to Yourself and Your Nomination.  In fact, a good guide to understanding "when" to nominate someone is when you really don't have to think about it all.  If you say to yourself "Most Inspiring Teacher Ever..." and your mind quickly or constantly keeps settling on one face in particular, there is your nomination.

But the last question you should be asking yourself is..., "Is this something I really want to go on the record for?"  If you have any hesitation right there and then at that moment, it is suggested that you do not have a nomination of Public Praise and Recognition and that you simply shouldn't do it.  Or just wait a few weeks and see if you still feel the same way later.  Any decision that stands the test of time, is worthy of your nomination and most assuredly, the Public Archives.

If, after unshakable scrutiny, you are still left with a resounding positive answer and maybe a "warm fuzzy feeling” or a sense of honor or pride somewhere deep inside of you, now not only do you have a time as to "When" you would want to nominate, you more than likely have confirmed with yourself on "WHO" to nominate as well.

WHO?

Who represents those people that you happen to have a fond memory of whenever you think of them.  Ask yourself; "Who would I want to include in the playback movie of my life?"  Who do you believe in your current state of Self Conscious Awareness* is worthy of both your praise and the Public's Archive?

*Self-Conscious Awareness (SCA) = A point in time when you come to realize that the truth as you have lived it is clearly revealed and that you are not deceiving yourself. This current state of mind will become the foundation of your Public Praise Nomination.

"Who are those you want to celebrate, to recognize their existence to the world and to the people of tomorrow in the hopes of inspiring them to do the same for others?"

Your experiences in your life tell you that when you ponder upon certain people, events or situations, calculate it, evaluate it, you are still left with only a positive feeling and a conclusive answer in regards to the outcome and are now able to sincerely express yourself in a truly positive manner.

An equally important question to answer of "Who to Nominate", is "Who NOT to Nominate"!

Planet's Choice has no scientific data to present to you to support the following information, but years of insight into the model of Planet's Choice has consistently revealed one "Law" to show itself to be true more times than not; "Murphy's Law".  Simply defined; "Anything that can go wrong, it will".

The moment you nominate your girlfriend as "The Best Girlfriend Ever", a few days later she will become the girlfriend from hell.  A few days after nominating your boss as a "Great Boss!" they might end up being the worst boss.  Proclaiming your current roommate as an "Awesome Roommate" will more than likely result in a bad roommate.  One day you are bragging about and want to nominate your Mayor as the "Best Mayor Ever", two weeks later he's on the front page of your local newspaper, smoking crack cocaine.  (True story).

This is why "WHEN" is so important to understand.  A Public Praise Nomination is best given after the fact, when you have no further dealing(s) or the situation / contract is over, NOW is the best time to re-evaluate your feelings and decide if there is someone or something you want to recognize as having made a positive difference in your life.  After the fact is the "safest" time to Nominate anyone; now we have a positive message of results.

Suggested examples of "Who" to Nominate;
  • Anyone you want to that has positively added to or who has made the living of your life an enjoyable experience.
  • People that you personally value and appreciate in the world; (Police Officers, Doctors, Fireman, Teachers, Mentors, personal Heroes etc)
  • People who possess positive character traits, morals or values that you appreciate in others.
  • Anyone (/thing,) you believe makes this world a better place for everyone on it.

Suggested examples of "Who Not to" Nominate;
  • Anyone that you have close, current dealings with. (Exceptions of course, are listed under "When").
  • A girlfriend / boyfriend from your past, when you currently have a girlfriend / boyfriend now.  (Same applies to Husbands and Wives).
  • Anyone who asks or attempts to bribe you to give up your right of positive expression in order to nominate themselves, someone or something else for anything you don’t believe is true.

WHAT?

What you decide to nominate is just as diverse as to what you decide to Proclaim for your nomination.

What positive Character Traits or Behaviors in People do you value?  In regards to “What” you nominate, sometimes it’s not all about “who” you nominate, but can also be about the better traits of people; Courage, Integrity, Honor, Leadership, etc. that you appreciate and want to see more of in life.  This is what you are promoting by means of what inspires you.

What do you want to positively change?

What inhibits you?  What makes you sad or angry?  What demoralizes you about humanity or life in general?  What problems in your life or the world would you like to try to take care of or at least bring more attention too?

Now ask yourself “Who (or what) is doing something positive, positively about it?”

What would you say to someone who can make a positive difference in your life or all of our lives in general if you were beside them now and you had their attention?

What do you want to encourage and or promote in the world?

Your Nomination can also be an Open Nomination to anyone in the Proclamation of your choice.  Such a nomination is not meant to be given to a particular person but rather to anyone who is striving for or who believes they have achieved what you are Proclaiming in your Nomination.

Perhaps you understand the positive societal values that “Great Fathers and or Great Mothers” have and play in the world at large and you wish to not only “project this” but to encourage this role further to anyone that is or is about to become a mother or father.

Open, Public Nominations are an act of Encouragement for those that are or are striving to be your Proclamation of Choice and every day, your public nomination can inspire them to stay strong in their honorable endeavors of humanity.

"The people and the Proclamations of Choice you choose for your nomination clearly represent virtues and or values that you wish to acknowledge and nurture in the world or into humanity itself."

In the future, “What” you decide to Proclaim now, is what society will start to take notice of.

WHERE?

Did you ever want to make a positive difference in something that was important to you but you either didn’t have the means to do so or you didn’t know where to start?

Did you ever want to recognize someone for something but you either missed the opportunity to do so or you simply forgot the name of the person or place, but you never forgot the act?

Where do you go to recognize them?

Where do you go to congratulate a construction road crew for completing their work on schedule?

Where can you go to appreciate and Honor those people that you don’t know who take care of the “tragedy scenes of life” so that we don’t have to live with that weight on our shoulders?

Where do you go to recognize a minimum wage worker doing a premium wage job with a really great attitude?

Where can you go to thank the Parking Enforcement Officer who didn’t ticket your car but instead choose to use their individual discretion and decided not to do so?

Where can you go to thank someone you don’t know for doing something that positively aligns with what you appreciate or value in others because you demand the very same from yourself?

Where can you go to recognize, respect, praise, promote or to celebrate such things as;
  • Human Etiquette?
  • Kind Acts?
  • Positive Wisdom & Philosophy?
  • Traits of Endearment?
  • Feats of Bravery?
  • Society Positive Morals & Values?
  • Missions of Humanity?
  • People who did the “right thing” at the right time to have done so?
  • Those unsung Heroes of our past or the Heroes we will never get to know about?

Should you actually have an answer to all or most of the above questions, then you probably have answers that comprise several different web sites.

Planet’s Choice aims to become THE centralized, one stop place to be for positive Public Praise and Recognition.

In the future, when you think “Recognition”, Think Planet’s Choice!
